Entering the 2022 season, the best cornerback in the AFC East is Xavien Howard. He was a second round pick by the Dolphins in 2016 and became the full-time starter in his second season.

Since that year, he has made the Pro Bowl three times, named to the first-team All-Pro team once, led the league in interceptions twice (2018 and 2020), and has 27 interceptions and 65 passes defended during that stretch.

In three of the past four seasons, Howard has not allowed QB ratings higher than 75 and quarterbacks completed less than 53% of their passes when throwing his direction.

If there is one area that White has done better than Howard it is allowing touchdowns as the Dolphins cornerback has allowed 18 over the past four years while White has allowed only six. However, even with the touchdowns Howard has played at a high level and done an excellent job forcing quarterbacks into mistakes with the interceptions he has been able to collect.

The Miami Dolphins have an excellent secondary but Xavien Howard is the key player in that group that helps the other players in this group and is the top cornerback in the division.
