Re-grading the Buffalo Bills top free agent signings from 2021
Contract: 1 year, $1.5 million
Another player who played well in limited snaps was defensive end Efe Obada, who signed a one-year deal with the Bills after three seasons with the Carolina Panthers.
In fact, Obada would play only 22% of the defensive snaps but would finish fourth on the team in sacks (3.5) and fourth in QB hits (8). Those eight QB hits ranked higher than Mario Addison and Jerry Hughes, two players who saw significantly more snaps than Obada.
Obada’s best game of the season came against his former team, the Panthers, when he had three tackles and two sacks in only 18 snaps.
In terms of contract value and production, the free agent signing of Efe Obada by the Buffalo Bills is arguably the best they made all of last season. He was a player that probably should have gotten more playing time and would have been a boost at the position.
The Buffalo Bills won’t get to find out if that would have been the case as he signed with the Washington Commanders this offseason and was reunited with his former head coach Ron Rivera.
