Another linebacker coming off a season-ending pec injury who could be an answer at backup linebacker is former Denver Broncos linebacker Alexander Johnson. He was a starting linebacker for the Broncos in 2019 and 2020 and was productive during that time with 217 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, one interception, and four forced fumbles.

Among the linebackers on the list, one thing that Johnson does better than probably the others is getting to the quarterback. In 2020, his last full season as a starter, he was brought on blitzes consistently and late in the season was leading the league in pass-rush attempts among linebackers.

This is why if the Bills were to sign Johnson, he could even see the field as a situational pass rusher and give this defense the opportunity to show opposing offenses different looks and formations.
