Over the past three seasons, Jon Bostic has been a starting linebacker with Washington and the past two played in Ron Rivera’s defense. There are plenty of similarities between Rivera’s and McDermott’s defense from their time together in Carolina.

In 2020, he would start every game and finish with 118 total tackles, three sacks, and one interception however would play only four games after suffering a torn pec and would be placed on injured reserve.

He is now looking for potentially his sixth team in his NFL career and he could be a great fit behind the Bills’ starting linebackers. Bostic has starting experience and some familiarity with their defense as well as some experience on special teams. However, that was earlier in his career and he hasn’t played much there since being the starter in Washington.

Similar to Schobert, he probably would only be limited to backing up Tremaine Edmunds as middle linebacker but with other players on the roster like Tyrel Dodson, this could be a good fit and a player who can be signed to a modest contract.
