Free Agent Contract: 2 years, $13.5 million

In addition to Vernon Butler, the Buffalo Bills also signed defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson and he was expected to be a big part of the rotation on the defensive line. Prior to signing with the Buffalo Bills, Jefferson spent four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and was productive averaging around 25 total tackles and three sacks per season in his final three seasons with Seattle.

He had similar production in his one season with the Buffalo Bills as he had 23 total tackles and three sacks. There is no question that Jefferson was the better of the two defensive tackles that the Buffalo Bills signed in the 2020 offseason.

The reason the Buffalo Bills ended up releasing Quinton Jefferson after only one season seemed to come down to cap reasons as the 2021 offseason created challenges for teams with a reduced salary cap. They were able to create $6.5 million in cap space and he was released the same day as John Brown, who also appeared to be released for cap reasons.
