On Tuesday, Sean McDermott met with the media prior to the Buffalo Bills starting their mandatory minicamp this week. He was able to provide some good news as he said that the Bills had their entire roster in attendance, including safety Jordan Poyer.

The biggest question was whether Poyer would be in attendance and it was reported yesterday that he would in fact participate this week. According to Sal Capaccio with WGR550, it appeared that Poyer participated in all activities.

Poyer is currently seeking a new contract entering the final year of his current deal. It remains to be seen how close that might but it certainly is a good sign to see him there this week.

In addition to the return of Poyer, the fact the entire roster is there is great news for the offense as they try to get up to speed with their new offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey. McDermott did mention this before practice and said he felt they were “light years ahead” of where they would be if they had hired an outside candidate to replace Brian Daboll.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Buffalo Bills made a number of changes on the defensive line. This offseason the Buffalo Bills saw players like Jerry Hughes, Mario Addison, and Star Lotulelei leave but were replaced by Von Miller, DaQuan Jones, Tim Settle as well as former players Shaq Lawson and Jordan Phillips returned.

The coaching staff will now need to begin to formulate a plan of how to incorporate all these new players with Greg Rousseau, A.J. Epenesa, Boogie Basham, and Ed Oliver to maximize the talent on their defensive line. By having everyone at practice they can begin to get a better idea ahead of training camp next month.
