Buffalo Bills 2023 Position Need: Offensive Guard

The final position the Buffalo Bills could be looking to address is offensive guard. This was an issue last season and the Buffalo Bills went through a few different combinations before finding success with Daryl Williams and Ryan Bates late in the season.

This year, the Bills are expected to go in with a combination of Rodger Saffold, who was signed to a one-year deal as a free agent, and Ryan Bates, who returns to Buffalo on a new four-year deal after the Bills matched the contract offer from the Chicago Bears.

Both of these players should be the starters but there is no guarantee they remain starters past this season. Saffold is only under contract for this season and at 33 years old, could be nearing the end of his career. As for Bates, he will likely start the season as the starter but it was a small sample size last year and he may not be the long-term answer at the position.

At a minimum, the Buffalo Bills are likely going to be looking for one starter next offseason but could be looking potentially to add two new starters next year.
