Jordan Phillips

The next player is one that the Buffalo Bills just signed this offseason as a free agent but know very well as he was previously with the team. In 2018, the Bills claimed Jordan Phillips after he was waived by the Miami Dolphins after struggling his first few years in the league.

He would play 12 games in 2018 and have only 19 total tackles and two tackles for a loss but would have a breakout year in 2019. That season he played in 16 games, with nine starts, and had 9.5 sacks, 16 QB hits, and 31 total tackles.

That season would earn him a three-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals but he didn’t find the same success in the desert that he had in Western New York. He was released this offseason and returned to Buffalo on a one-year deal.

The defensive tackle position will look very different this year and Phillips is hopefully a big part of that. However, it isn’t necessarily a guarantee that he will get a spot on the 53-man roster but a strong start at OTAs will certainly help.
