Khalil Shakir

The Buffalo Bills didn’t add any veterans who should compete for either of these spots but potentially have a rookie that could be in the discussion. One player is Khalil Shakir, who was a fifth round pick by the Bills out of Boise State.

Shakir is a versatile player as he primarily plays wide receiver but does have enough rushing attempts during his college career that this needs to be considered. It is one of the reasons he has drawn comparisons to Deebo Samuels.

In addition to his play on offense, Shakir does have some experience returning kicks with 24 punt returns at Boise State and seven kickoff returns. While it isn’t a lot, it is enough for the coaching staff to at least give him a look.

If the Buffalo Bills want a change at the position, Shakir is really the only player currently on the roster that could give them that.
