The next player is the one who replaced McKenzie after he lost the starting job during the season.

Marquez Stevenson was a sixth-round draft pick out of the University of Houston last year. He started the year on injured reserve but returned on Thanksgiving against the New Orleans Saints.

This would be his first time playing in a regular season game and would have five punt returns in that game for an average of 9.8 yards per punt return but also had a fumble. The Bills would elect to go with Micah Hyde for the game against the New England Patriots due to the wind but Stevenson returned to the role the following week.

He would return to the role in the next game against the Bucs. In total, he would have 14 punt returns for an average of 9.4 yards per punt and seven kickoff returns for an average of 23.6 yards per kickoff. However, he did have two fumbles on those returns.

He is in a similar situation to McKenzie, where if he can show he has improved ball security, he would be considered one of the favorites to win both jobs.
