The Buffalo Bills signed four more undrafted free agents after the rookie minicamp this past weekend

The past week was a busy one for the Buffalo Bills and the NFL as the league announced the 2022 schedule on Thursday night. Then on Friday, the Bills took the practice field for the first time with the players they drafted in the 2022 NFL Draft as well as recent undrafted free agent signings.

In addition, they had players in Orchard Park as part of a tryout and for four of those players, they did enough to earn a contract. This group included offensive tackle Will Ulmer, cornerback Ja’Marcus Ingram, and defensive tackles Prince Emili and C.J. Brewer.

Buffalo Bills add more depth in the trenches

It is worth noting that of the three players the Buffalo Bills signed, they are either on the offensive or defensive line. These are two areas where the depth was tested last year and the Bills are trying to do their best to ensure that it isn’t an issue this coming season.

On the defensive side of the ball, the addition of Emili and Brewer gives the Bills two players that can help strengthen the interior of the defensive line but it is worth noting both would likely play a similar role.

Both players are smaller for defensive tackles and would likely be more three-technique defensive tackles. They are expected to utilize their quickness and speed to penetrate through the line and make tackles for losses and get pressure up the middle, similar to the role Ed Oliver plays in this defense.

As for Will Ulmer, he played primarily offensive tackle at Marshall but according to the scouting report on Pro Football Network could be a better fit at guard. The interior of the offensive line is somewhere the Buffalo Bills could use some help and this would make sense to help add depth to heading into offseason workouts and training camp.
