While the 2022 opponents have been known for a few months now, this week the NFL will announce when the Buffalo Bills are playing their opponents. One of the first thing fans tend to look for is how many primetime or nationally televised games each team will have.

Over the past few seasons, the Bills have found themselves playing more of these games, with last year the total being four including a Thanksgiving night game against the New Orleans Saints. This is due to the team’s success and the fact they have one of the true superstars in the league with quarterback Josh Allen.

NFL.com includes two Buffalo Bills games in their Top 10 games of 2022

Recently, Nick Shook of NFL.com put together his list of Top 10 games of 2022 and the Buffalo Bills found themselves on their twice. While these are not guaranteed to end up in primetime, these are two games that have a good chance this upcoming season.

Working backward from 10, the first game that appears on this list is at number four with the Buffalo Bills against the Green Bay Packers.

"Back-to-back MVP Aaron Rodgers takes the field against one of the faces of the NFL’s quarterbacking future, Josh Allen, in what promises to be an 11-on-11 battle of strategy, finesse and grit. Can the Packers and their revamped cast of offensive playmakers keep pace with the high-powered Bills? Will Green Bay find a way to limit Allen and give Rodgers a chance to score a huge win?"

As Shook notes, this game does have a bit of feeling of passing of the guard with the quarterbacks in this game. Aaron Rodgers is still playing excellent football but is getting towards the end of his career while Josh Allen has only been ascending the past few seasons.

This also is an opportunity for Micah Hyde to play his former team as he started his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers.

The second game, which is the best game according to Shook this upcoming season, shouldn’t be a surprise as it is the Buffalo Bills against the Kansas City Chiefs.

"Allen and Mahomes are the new faces of the NFL, and both teams enter 2022 with visions of kissing the Lombardi Trophy in February. Only one can get there, though, and they might have to go through each other to do so. This regular-season meeting could tell us a whole lot about how the postseason could shake out — and we can all but guarantee a prime-time setting and the football world turning its collective attention to Arrowhead Stadium for this one."

This is a rematch of the AFC Divisional Round that was an incredible back and forth matchup that saw Josh Allen go toe to toe with Patrick Mahomes. It was the best game of the playoffs and viewed by some as the “unofficial” Super Bowl as it was a game between the two best teams in the league.

This certainly will be the one game most Bills fans will look for first and is one that the NFL is going to want to highlight prominently on their schedule. As Shook notes, this game could have major implications come playoff time if the Buffalo Bills are competing for seeding with the Chiefs.

The head-to-head matchup is a key tiebreaker and this could decide if the Chiefs come to Western New York in a potential playoff matchup or if the Bills have to travel to Kansas City for the third straight year in the playoffs.
