Who were the biggest winners and losers from the 2022 NFL Draft for the Buffalo Bills?

Now with the 2022 NFL Draft complete, there is a good idea of what the Buffalo Bills roster will look like for the upcoming season. The picks the Bills made last week certainly benefited a number of players but for others, it has created competition and they now have the challenge of earning a spot on the 53-man roster.

These are the biggest winners and losers from the 2022 NFL Draft for the Buffalo Bills.

Buffalo Bills Winner: Devin Singletary

The Buffalo Bills were expected to draft a running back at some point in the 2022 NFL Draft. There were some expectations that they could end up taking the top running back in this year’s class, Breece Hall, potentially as early as the first round.

However, Hall would end up being passed over by the Buffalo Bills and find a home with the New York Jets. The Bills instead elected to draft James Cook in the second round.

While adding a high draft pick at a position you play may not be a good thing, this is probably the best-case scenario for Singletary.

Cook is primarily going to be a receiving back for the Buffalo Bills as a rookie. This opens up the early down work for Devin Singletary, a role he really excelled in towards the end of the season.

The veteran running back should remain in that role and really shouldn’t lose many touches to Cook. This sets him up to potentially have a breakout season in a contract year that could help him earn a big contract in free agency.
