Potential Buffalo Bills Day 2 Draft Target #5: Jaquan Brisker

A consistent riser throughout his career at Penn State, Brisker blossomed into a first-team All-Big Ten and second-team All-American player during the 2021 campaign. Even at 6-foot-1 and 199-pounds, Brisker plays downhill as a box safety but also has the athleticism to move around in coverage.

He was able to get his hand on the ball a lot as well, totaling five career interceptions and 19 passes defended in three seasons with the Nittany Lions. Since 2019, Brisker has been one of the best safeties in the Big 10, according to Pro Football Focus.

I like the fit here because he can learn from the best safety tandem in the league with All-Pros Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer. He would not be asked to come in right away to start but could be valuable in nickel and dime sets early on in his career.

But he could also be a future long-term starter for the Bills. Especially if the Poyer contract battle continues to wage on this offseason. Brisker has a similar size and skill set to Poyer, so he would not be a bad eventual replacement for Poyer if the Bills were to move on from him.
