Buffalo Bills Draft Target: Jelani Woods

Another player that the Buffalo Bills reportedly held a private workout with was Jelani Woods, who played last season with Virginia after transferring there from Oklahoma State. While he may not have the stats that McBride did, there is a case to be made that he is the most athletic tight end in this year’s draft class.

This past season with Virginia, Woods was a big red zone threat and finished with eight touchdowns to go along with 44 receptions and 598 receiving yards.

Woods is a player that could make a lot of sense for the Buffalo Bills as they have not been afraid to draft players with great physical abilities but need time to refine the technique. Last year, Greg Rousseau was a perfect example of that as a player who only had one productive season but the physical attributes were too much to pass up.

Another example is the player that Woods could potentially be replacing in Dawson Knox. At Ole Miss, Knox never caught a touchdown but showed the athleticism that is unique for the position and Buffalo was willing to be patient as he developed.
