Buffalo Bills First Round Pick (18th overall): Chris Olave, WR (Ohio State)

With Drake London, Garrett Wilson, and Jameson Williams off the board, I decided between Chris Olave and Treylon Burks with the 18th pick. Ultimately I decided on Olave because I think he will have an easier transition into this Bills offense and will be ready to contribute right away, which is very important for a team with Super Bowl aspirations. Olave had a low target share in the Ohio State offense as he shared the field with future first-rounders Garrett Wilson and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Still, Olave turned 20% of his receptions into touchdowns scoring 13 times on his 65 receptions. Olave’s route running destroys one-on-one coverage, and he should see a lot of 1 on 1s if he shares the field with Gabriel Davis and Stefon Diggs.

In addition, Olave has the speed to separate down the field and is surehanded. Even though he mainly was working down the field, Olave only had a 4.9% career drop rate at Ohio State, proving he can make tough catches. His sure hands and downfield ability make him a match made in heaven with Josh Allen.
