4. Buffalo Bills trade with the Cleveland Browns for Case Keenum

The Buffalo Bills have one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL but needed to find a backup for Josh Allen with Mitchell Trubisky leaving this offseason to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The team elected to go the veteran route and would work out a trade with the Cleveland Browns for Case Keenum. The deal would only cost them one of their two seventh round picks this year.

The fact that the Buffalo Bills were able to acquire a veteran quarterback like Keenum for only a seventh round pick is an excellent move. Especially when considering the depth the team has on the roster and two of their picks from last year didn’t even make the 53-man roster, a trade like this makes more sense for the use of this pick.

Case Keenum is a veteran backup that when needed, has stepped in and played well over the past few years. This past season with the Cleveland Browns, Keenum made two starts and the Browns would end up winning both games.

The hope is that Case Keenum doesn’t have to play any meaningful snaps this coming season but adding the veteran has helped solidify the most important position on the roster.
