5. Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are a tough team to understand where they rank within the conference and they may get this spot due more to their past performances. This offseason they traded away Tyreek Hill and appear like they are going to lose Tyrann Mathieu on defense, two key players in the success of the franchise the past few seasons.

However, the Chiefs still have Patrick Mahomes under center and added Juju Smith-Schuster to help him on offense. They also have a number of picks that can help infuse talent into this roster.

The challenge is that for the Chiefs to be successful, they are going to rely on Patrick Mahomes to win with his arm as the secondary has serious questions. He has proven he can do it in the past but can he do it consistently enough to get the Chiefs to their third Super Bowl in four years? That seems unlikely.
