6. Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders find themselves in a weird spot because they certainly are one of the better teams in the AFC but this year they could find themselves last within their own division. The AFC West is hands down the best division in football as all four teams are legitimate playoff contenders.

Last year, the Raiders were able to sneak into the playoffs even after making a coaching change midway through the season with Jon Gruden resigning. They have always been a team that has been competitive but has never been able to make it into that next level within the conference.

They are hoping that changes this year and have made a number of moves to head in that direction by hiring Josh McDaniel as head coach and pulling off the blockbuster trade for Davante Adams.

Their questions still lie on the defensive side of the ball, particularly in the secondary. They signed Chandler Jones to try and improve the pass rush and traded for Rock Ya-Sin from the Indianapolis Colts. These moves should help but it doesn’t move them into the Top 5 within the conference.
