Could Andrew Booth Jr. be the answer for the Buffalo Bills at cornerback?

There is no question that the cornerback position should be one of the top priorities for the Buffalo Bills in the 2022 NFL Draft. The team hasn’t added anyone in free agency but lost last year’s starter Levi Wallace along with questions about when Tre’Davious White might be available as he recovers from a torn ACL suffered on Thanksgiving against the New Orleans Saints.

The good news is that there are a number of cornerbacks that could be great fits in this defense and one of those players is former Clemson Tigers cornerback Andrew Booth Jr.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Bills have already brought Booth in for a Top 30 visit ahead of the NFL Draft. Booth has been a starter for Clemson the past two seasons and during that stretch had five interceptions, nine passes defended, and six tackles for a loss.

Buffalo Bills may have to trade up for a chance to draft Andrew Booth Jr.

Andrew Booth Jr. looks like a perfect fit for this defense based on the scouting report on NFL.com. Lance Zierlein describes a player who can excel in zone coverage but also does a good job tackling and in run support.

However, if the Buffalo Bills hope to draft him, they may be forced to trade up from their current first round pick at 25. The former Clemson cornerback is expected to go somewhere in the middle of the first round.

However, if recent reports are true, general manager Brandon Beane seems ready to make that move. When considering the depth and talent on the roster, it could make more sense to package some of their picks to move up to find players who have the talent to start right away as a rookie.
