Buffalo Bills Draft Target: Devin Lloyd, LB (Utah)

This next player may be surprising but there is one scenario that could play out that could make the selection of Devin Lloyd make sense. The Buffalo Bills are reportedly willing to trade one or two veterans to move up and one player who could have great trade value is Tremaine Edmunds.

The reason the Bills would consider trading Tremaine Edmunds could come down to the salary cap. The former first round pick is entering his final year and is in line for a mega-contract in free agency next year. If the Bills believe they are not willing, or able, to meet those demands and could lose Edmunds in free agency, trading him now to get something in return could make sense.

If the Bills were to trade Edmunds, it would create a major hole at linebacker. This is why the front office could target a player like Devin Lloyd. He was a very productive linebacker at Utah with 250 tackles and 43 tackles for a loss in the past three seasons.

This past season alone he showed his ability to make plays behind the line of scrimmage with seven sacks and 22 tackles for a loss.

The Buffalo Bills look for very athletic linebackers that can play sideline to sideline and Lloyd certainly fits that description. It would certainly be a gamble for the Bills as Tremaine Edmunds handles relaying the play calls but if Buffalo is confident that Matt Milano or even Devin Lloyd could handle those responsibilities, then this is a move that might make sense to help with future salary caps.
