The cornerback position is one that probably has the most uncertainty at this point of the offseason with Levi Wallace signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tre’Davious White working his way back from a torn ACL. It would be surprising if the Buffalo Bills don’t address it over the next few weeks, either in free agency or the NFL Draft.

However, regardless of the direction the front office takes, former seventh-round pick Dane Jackson will be in the mix and has a chance to earn a starting job. As a rookie, Jackson had a chance to start two games but after White’s injury last season, Jackson had his first opportunity to see consistent playing time. He would start the final six regular season games and the two playoff games.

In those six regular season games, Jackson would have six passes defended and allowed only 14 receptions on 30 targets.

While Dane Jackson is likely not a player who can be expected to be the top cornerback on this defense, he certainly could fill in for Levi Wallace opposite Tre’Davious White. If he earns that starting job, he has a chance for the first time in his career to begin the season as a starter.
