4 Buffalo Bills potentially already fighting for roster spots after free agency
Matt Haack
The Buffalo Bills haven’t added another punter yet this year but it would be very surprising if that remained the case by the time OTAs rolled around. Last offseason, the Bills signed Matt Haack to a three-year deal to replace Corey Bojorquez.
However, it was a disappointing season for Haack and general manager Brandon Beane made it clear after the season they would be looking to add competition here. The idea that Haack is on shaky ground in terms of holding onto the job continued recently as Buffalo revised his contract to essentially make it a one-year deal with limited dead cap if he is released.
The fact that the Bills didn’t cut Haack out-right certainly still gives him a chance and where the Buffalo Bills find competition could give an indication of his chances as well. If the Bills were to draft a punter, it will probably be a tougher uphill climb since Buffalo would invest draft capital in a player versus signing an undrafted free agent.
