Prediction for 2022: Washington Commanders

The other veteran defensive end on the Buffalo Bills last year was Mario Addison, who similar to Hughes likely doesn’t have a spot on this defense after the moves they made. Addison will be 35 years old this season but has remained rather productive with 13 sacks over the past two years and led Buffalo in this category both years.

Similar to Jerry Hughes, Mario Addison is not a starter at this point in his career but could be valuable as a situational pass rusher. He also would bring veteran leadership to a defense and the position group.

A team that might make sense for Addison is the Washington Commanders and a chance to play for his former head coach Ron Rivera. The veteran defensive end played eight seasons in Carolina with Rivera as his head coach and had some of the best years of his career with the Panthers.

This would be a good move for the Commanders as they bring Addison to be that primary backup to Chase Young and Montez Sweat and bring veteran depth to the position.
