5 players the Buffalo Bills could release to create cap space

This is one of those players that could free up a significant amount of cap space as Mitch Morse is entering the final year of his deal. If he were to be released it would open up $7.5 million.

However, this is a situation where the cap savings may not justify releasing the player because it creates a big hole on the offensive line. One of the reasons the Bills offered Morse a significant contract when he was a free agent in 2019 was they saw how much the offensive line struggles without a leader at the position the prior year.

If the Bills were to release Morse, they would also not have a single center on the roster as Jon Feliciano was the only other player with extensive experience at the position. There is plenty of cap savings with this move to at least discuss but a better path forward would likely be to try and work out a contract extension that could spread out this year’s cap hit.
