Buffalo Bills Free Agent Target: DeAndre Carter

DeAndre Carter entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2015 but it wasn’t until 2018 that he played in his first regular season game. He started that season with the Philadelphia Eagles but would be released and claimed by the Houston Texans.

He would start six games over three seasons with the Texans but would be released during the 2020 season and be claimed by the Chicago Bears. However, Carter’s most playing time came this past season with Washington where he would appear in all 17 games, and start six.

He would finish the year with 24 receptions, 296 receiving yards, and three touchdowns.

If the Bills were to add Carter, he would likely come in to compete for the chance to replace Cole Beasley in the slot if he were to leave. Carter could bring some quickness and speed to the position that would also be valuable if Buffalo were to also lose Isaiah McKenzie. In addition, he is an experienced returner and could compete with Marquez Stevenson for that job. In his career, he has 79 punt returns and 81 kick returns.
