Buffalo Bills Draft Target: Travis Jones

If Jordan Davis didn’t have the NFL Combine that he did, Travis Jones out of UConn would have been a player that people were talking about more. He is another big defensive tackle that can clog up the middle of the field and does a good job against the run.

At the NFL Combine, Travis Jones ran the 40-yard dash in 4.98 seconds, with a 10-yard split of 1.76 and a broad jump of 9’3″ according to CBS Sports.

Next Gen Stats had an interesting player comp for Jones in three-time Pro Bowler Chris Jones of the Kansas City Chiefs. While the athleticism aligns between the two players, Travis Jones is more of a run-stuffer while Chris Jones has shown to be effective getting after the quarterback with nine or more sacks in three of the past four seasons.

The performance by Travis Jones at the NFL Combine followed up a good week in Mobile at the Senior Bowl. He is a player that is moving up most draft boards and likely will be going somewhere in the first two rounds.
