Cornerback appears to be a key position for Buffalo Bills at NFL Combine
Buffalo Bills Draft Target: Roger McCreary
Another player who is expected to go in the first or second round is cornerback Roger McCreary out of the University of Auburn. According to Muki Hawkins, he also has met with the Buffalo Bills.
McCreary is an experienced cornerback and has been a starter the past three seasons for Auburn. The theme of good size (6’0″ and 190 pounds) and willing tackler (10 career tackles for a loss) continues with McCreary.
He also does a great job disrupting the pass with not only six interceptions but an impressive 30 pass breakups, including 14 last year alone.
The scouting report on The Draft Network notes that McCreary could play outside but also inside in the slot. They note that he does a good job staying close in coverage, which limits the yards after the catch, and this would be a great attribute for a player playing in the slot.
The Bills were able to sign Taron Johnson to an extension during the season last year but having a capable backup at the position like Roger McCreary would help solidify the position.
