Drew Lock

The Denver Broncos look to be one team that could take that next step in the AFC and the only thing that held them back last year was the quarterback position. This is why they are seemingly linked to big names like Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson this offseason.

Even if the Broncos were to trade for one of those big names, it would probably be unlikely they would release Drew Lock, who was a second round pick in 2019. The reason is that his contract is reasonable and he is the only quarterback currently on the roster.

However, this is a new coaching staff and they may elect to start completely fresh at the position. If they were to release Drew Lock, there may not be a better place for him to go than Buffalo.

Entering the NFL Draft, he was described as a player who had the “prototypical combination of size and arm strength” in Lance Zierlein’s scouting report on NFL.com. The concern was his inaccuracy, which has carried over into the NFL with a career completion percentage below 60%.

This is something that Josh Allen struggled with coming out of college but has worked hard to correct. For Drew Lock, this could be a great opportunity to learn from Allen while the Buffalo Bills add a backup who may still have untapped potential.
