Buffalo Bills: 4 interior offensive linemen to watch at the 2022 NFL Combine
Ed Ingram, LSU
Measurables: 6-4, 320lbs
Ed Ingram has four years of starting experience in the SEC, where he has faced some of the most talented defensive units in college football. Ingram started as a true freshman but missed time after getting in some legal trouble. However, he was reinstated the following year and rejoined the LSU team after missing the 2018 football season. Ingram started the final three years of his career and was named Second Team ALL-SEC in 2021.
Ingram has been consistent his entire career; although he is not an elite athlete, he did a solid job holding his own against the SEC’s best. Ingram has a strong base that helps him maintain his ground against bigger defensive tackles. He also can get a strong push with a quick first step off the ball. Ingram’s quick first step is developed later on in his college career, indicating he has been growing as a player.
Ingram is likely a high floor player with a limited ceiling. Many teams may not view him to have All-Pro potential, but he could be an excellent starter in the NFL. Ingram’s numbers at the NFL Combine will be necessary to his draft stock because athleticism is his most significant question mark. If Ingram can show out at the Combine, he could prove to teams that he may have a higher ceiling than many think.
Ingram would be a good fit for the Bills because he is a very experienced college player. He may not start immediately for the Buffalo Bills if they bring Ryan Bates back or a free agent in, but he could easily carve out a future in Buffalo. Ingram would not come to Buffalo and be a star, but if he were forced to play in his first year, I would imagine that he would handle the role well and eventually take one of the guard jobs as his.
