3 defensive ends the Buffalo Bills should try to trade for this offseason
Buffalo Bills Trade Target: Marcus Davenport
The New Orleans Saints have seemingly found themselves in salary cap trouble for a number of years now. This strategy is not sustainable and with Sean Payton leaving this offseason, combined with Drew Brees retiring last year, this may be the start of a rebuild for this team.
One player who may be available in a trade is defensive end Marcus Davenport. He was a first round pick in 2018 and the Saints picked up his fifth-year option last offseason. This means his cap hit jumps to almost $10 million this year but if he were traded, it would save $8.7 million according to Spotrac.
This is a move that could make sense for the Buffalo Bills because he looks he is just about to enter the prime of his career with a 9.0 sack season last year and only 26 years old next season. For the New Orleans Saints, it would give them more draft picks that could help as they try to manage the salary cap moving forward.
