Was Greg Rousseau a one-hit-wonder in college?

In last year’s NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills selected defensive end Greg Rousseau with their pick in the first round. The former University of Miami pass rusher had an excellent 2019 season with 15.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for a loss.

However, he had plenty of question marks due to the fact that he really only had one productive season in college after missing the 2020 season due to the pandemic. There were questions about whether Rousseau was as successful as he was in 2019 with Jaelan Phillips, who also was a first round pick last year, was lined up on the other side.

Based on his rookie season, Greg Rousseau answered that question and he looks like he will be a big part of this defense moving forward. This past season, Rousseau started every game for the Buffalo Bills and finished the year with four sacks, eight tackles for a loss, four passes defended, and an interception.

There is still room to improve for Greg Rousseau but he certainly has the chance to become the team’s top defensive end moving forward.
