Buffalo Bills Trade Target: Saquon Barkley

Of the four players, this is the most unlikely but needs to be discussed because it would address a major need at one point for the Buffalo Bills. The run game underwhelmed for most of the season until it was turned over to Devin Singletary who had over 500 yards from scrimmage in the final six games of the year and nine total touchdowns.

The front office will need to decide if the way Singletary finished the season can continue into 2022 or if they need to find a featured running back. There may not be a better option than Saquon Barkley, who has incredible talent but has also dealt with more than his fair share of injuries.

In four seasons with the New York Giants, he has played a full regular season only once, which came in his rookie season. This past season, Barkley played 13 games but didn’t look great with 593 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

However, he was coming off an ACL injury in 2020 which takes some time to recover from along with playing in a dysfunctional offense. These two may have combined to play a bigger role in his underwhelming performance rather than a decrease in talent.

If the New York Giants know they are not going to re-sign him to a long-term deal it might be worth trading him now to get something in return before he just leaves in free agency.
