6 key moments that altered the 2021 season for the Buffalo Bills
Losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1
One of the top moments of the season came in the very first week of the season. The Buffalo Bills were preparing to play the Pittsburgh Steelers in front of a full stadium. It was supposed to be a homecoming of sorts as the Bills were coming off an incredible season the year prior and were considered one of the top teams in the NFL.
The opening game did not go their way and was one of the sloppiest games they would play all season as they would lose 23-16. They would have four fumbles, two each by Josh Allen and Devin Singletary, eight penalties for 81 penalty yards, and a blocked punt in the fourth quarter. That punt would be returned for a touchdown and essentially decided the outcome of the game.
This game served as a bit of a wake-up call for the Buffalo Bills and they would go on to win their next four games, including a road game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
