Jim Caldwell

One coach that has been discussed pretty frequently this offseason has been Jim Caldwell. The former head coach with the Detroit Lions and Indianapolis Colts has been interviewing with a number of teams for their head coach openings like the Chicago Bears.

However, he hasn’t been hired yet and if Caldwell is someone who wants to get back into the NFL and isn’t offered a head coaching position, there may not be a better job than offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills.

Caldwell has had a number of stops in his career including quarterback coach and then head coach with the Indianapolis Colts from 2002 to 2011 where he worked with Peyton Manning. He also was offensive coordinator with the Baltimore Ravens in 2013 when they would win the Super Bowl.

He would then become head coach of the Detroit Lions from 2014 to 2017, and Matthew Stafford would throw for over 4,000 yards every year.

Caldwell has a great track record of maximizing talent at the quarterback position and the Buffalo Bills couldn’t ask for much more than that in their next offensive coordinator.
