As a Buffalo Bills fan, whatever way you feel right now is probably correct. If you’re feeling optimistic that the Bills just went toe to toe with an all-time great team and came up so close while getting yet another historic performance from their franchise QB, that is okay.

If you’re feeling pessimistic that the Bills got THAT performance from their QB and still couldn’t get over the hump, that’s okay too. The Bills proved that they are as good as any team and can win the Super Bowl, which is what has made their squandered opportunity that much more painful.

Here are five positives and negatives for the Buffalo Bills as we head into another long offseason.

Buffalo Bills Positive: Joshua Patrick Allen

Josh Allen has looked like an MVP candidate at quarterback for much of the past two years. However, he somehow stepped his game up to a whole new level and transcended himself into a gold jacket quarterback during the Buffalo Bills, albeit short-lived playoff run.

Allen executed at a nearly flawless level for two games against talented defenses with good defensive coaching staffs. Allen finished the playoffs completing over 77% of his 62 pass attempts for 637 yards, nine touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. And Allen didn’t merely get away with not throwing a pick; he kept the ball out of harm’s way entirely for those two games.

If those numbers weren’t enough, Josh also lifted the Bills running game with 135 yards on the ground in the playoffs. Josh Allen has become one of the most dominant players in the sport, and he gives the Bills more than a fighting chance every time he steps on the field.
