Special Teams

The Bills special teams had a much better game than the Chiefs as Bass was perfect on all four of his extra point attempts and Matt Haack certainly looked much better than the last time he was on the field, back in Week 17 against the New York Jets.

The only big misstep came in the fourth quarter on a 45-yard punt return by Tyreek Hill that was saved from being a touchdown by Matt Haack making the tackle. The Bills initially made a great play limiting Hill’s return but offsetting penalties forced the Bills to punt again which Hill was able to return on his second try.

The Bills ultimately would come up short again but it would be tough to say that this team was not as talented as the Kansas City Chiefs, who is arguably the best team in the NFL. Last year, the focus for the offseason was to build a team to compete with the AFC Champions and they certainly did that.
