Patrick Mahomes against the No. 1 scoring defense in the NFL

Patrick Mahomes has endured a down-year season by his own standards. He’s typically in the MVP conversation and creating magic with his ad-lib and improvisational skills on display. Come Sunday, Mahomes will be called upon to do something only one other quarterback has done against the Bills all season long; have a huge day through the air.

The Bills gave up 351 yards to Tom Brady in Week 14 with 78 of those yards coming in overtime. Since that game, no other passer has come close to 250 passing yards against Buffalo. But Mahomes and Co. could present a similar challenge.

The Bills have also played much better against the run down the stretch on defense; holding its opponents to less than 100 yards in three consecutive weeks.

In their Week 5 matchup, Mahomes threw for a respectable 272 yards against the No. 1 ranked defense who boasted, now out for the season, Tre’Davious White. However, Buffalo has still put up historic numbers as a defense with backup defensive backs.

It’s a tall task for any quarterback to throw for the magic number against Buffalo’s defense. But if any quarterback is capable, it’s unquestionably Mahomes.

Buffalo’s defense must remain true to form to earn its second-consecutive trip to the conference title game. And the opportunity awaits in Arrowhead.
