Round 2 (59th Overall) – John Metchie III, WR (Alabama)

In the second round, the Buffalo Bills add speed to the wide receiver position with the selection of John Metchie III. The wide receiver position is another one that the front office will have some decisions to make with Emmanuel Sanders and Isaiah McKenzie both free agents as well as Cole Beasley entering the final year of his contract in 2022.

Meanwhile, John Metchie III is one that could step in as the team’s slot receiver but also line up outside and be a deep threat that stretches the defense. In the past two seasons, Metchie has 151 receptions, 2,058 receiving yards, averaging 13.8 yards per reception, and 14 touchdowns with Alabama.

The biggest concern with John Metchie III is a knee injury he suffered in the SEC Championship Game. This could drop his stock some but if he is there in the second round, Buffalo should jump at the chance to add him.
