Absence of Tre’Davious White

The Buffalo Bills finished the regular season as the best defense in the NFL, allowing the fewest yards per game (272.8) and fewest points (17.0). In their first meeting, the Chiefs would score 20 points and Patrick Mahomes did throw for 272 passing yards and two passing touchdowns but it took 54 pass attempts and the Bills picked off Mahomes twice.

One of the big changes this time around is that Buffalo will be missing Tre’Davious White, who suffered a season-ending knee injury on Thanksgiving night against the Saints. The combination of Levi Wallace and Dane Jackson has done a good job in his absence but outside of the Tampa Bay game, they haven’t been tested by a top-tier quarterback or wide receiver.

It will be interesting how the coaching staff approaches this matchup and how they defend Tyreek Hill, who finished the year seventh in the league in receiving yards (1,239) and tied for ninth in receiving touchdowns (9), without their All-Pro cornerback.
