New Orleans Saints

Another team that is going to be limited by the salary cap this offseason is the New Orleans Saints, which is already $61 million over the 2022 salary cap. They are going to have a lot of work to do after the season but this is something they have done for years now and shouldn’t be much of a surprise.

The Saints started the year with Jameis Winston as their starting quarterback and they actually got off to a fast start with a 5-2 record. However, Winston would suffer a season-ending knee injury and the Saints were not able to keep it together with Trevor Siemian and Taysom Hill under center.

It would make sense for New Orleans to want to bring back Jameis Winston after the way he started the year but if they want to go in another direction, Trubisky would be a great option. He would have Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas along with Sean Payton calling the plays. This is one spot that would make a lot of sense for both parties.
