Atlanta Falcons

The next team is one the Buffalo Bills just played this past weekend in the Atlanta Falcons. They still have Matt Ryan but the Falcons could look to trade or release him with him towards the end of his career and the Falcons in the middle of a rebuild.

If the Falcons decide to move forward without Matt Ryan, Mitchell Trubisky could be a great option as a starting quarterback. The challenge for Atlanta, and why Trubisky could make sense, is they don’t have much in terms of cap space this offseason.

According to Spotrac, the Falcons have just under $12 million which would go up significantly if they were to trade or release Matt Ryan. However, it might not be enough to swing a trade for some of those top quarterbacks potentially available this offseason.

The other reason this could make sense is that head coach Arthur Smith has a track record of revitalizing careers of former first round pick quarterbacks. He was the offensive coordinator with the Titans when they brought in Ryan Tannehill, who is playing great after leaving the Dolphins.
