2. Buffalo Bills extend Micah Hyde

The extension of Taron Johnson was one move the Bills made to ensure this secondary is together for the next few years. However, a few months prior to that Buffalo was able to agree to a two-year extension with Micah Hyde.

Hyde joined the Bills as a free agent in 2017 and the 2021 season was the final year of his initial contract with Buffalo. The combination of Hyde and Jordan Poyer, who also joined the Bills in 2017, has become one of the best safety duos in the NFL and it was important to keep those two together long-term.

This season, Hyde has remained a key part of this defense and has continued to play at a high level. He has already tied his season-high in interceptions with five, which he set back in 2017, due to a two-interception game in Buffalo’s biggest game of the year last week against the New England Patriots.

If it wasn’t for this next move, this would easily have been the best roster move made by the Buffalo Bills in 2021.
