Should Isaiah McKenzie start over Cole Beasley?
The Buffalo Bills announced on Wednesday that they were activating four players off the Reserve/COVID-19 list which included wide receivers Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis. It appears that the Buffalo Bills are going to have their entire wide receiver group available for Sunday, which would be the first time since Week 14 against the Tampa Bay Buccanneers.
This is great news but also creates some challenges for the coaching staff in terms of finding playing time for all these players. One of those tough decisions is going to come at the slot receiver position.
Beasley has been the starter for the entire season before missing Sunday’s game against the Patriots. In his place, Isaiah McKenzie got the start and had an excellent game with 11 receptions, 125 receiving yards, and one touchdown.
Beasley is an excellent route runner and has been a reliable pass catcher for Josh Allen but McKenzie provided more speed and made bigger plays downfield. While it is hard to imagine the Bills will completely give the job to McKenzie, this could end up being a timeshare between the two wide receivers.
