Buffalo Bills: 4 players who should be re-signed after recent performances

At the midpoint this season, it seemed like the Buffalo Bills were going to be heading towards completely re-vamping the defensive tackle position, aside from Ed Oliver. This was a group that wasn’t getting great production and with Harrison Phillips, Vernon Butler, and Justin Zimmer all on one-year deals it would make sense.
However, Phillips turned a corner around Week 13 in the Bills’ first matchup with the New England Patriots. Since that game, he has been playing great football and been a key contributor on this defensive line with an average of 5.75 total tackles per game.
Similar to some of these other players, it doesn’t make sense to re-sign a player on a small sample but Phillips has shown this level of play before. At the start of the 2019 season, Phillips was off to a fast start and pushing Star Lotulelei for that starting job.

However, he suffered a season-ending knee injury and really hasn’t been able to get back to that level until recently. It would make sense for the Buffalo Bills to want to bring back Phillips on a two or three year deal but if he continues to play at this level, the market could be competitive for the fourth-year defensive tackle.
