The Buffalo Bills are entering the biggest game of the season when they face the New England Patriots on Sunday at Gillette Stadium. One of the reasons this game is so critical is that the Bills have to win if they hope to win the AFC East this year, which is the top storyline for Week 16.

Winner likely to win the AFC East

The Bills are 8-6 after a 31-14 victory over the Carolina Panthers and will be playing a Patriots team that saw their win streak snapped last week against the Indianapolis Colts. A win in Week 16 would allow the Bills to control their destiny and if they win the last two regular season games of the season, they would win the AFC East.

However, a loss would likely drop them most likely out of the playoffs after this game. They will be left competing with a number of teams for three wild card spots with no guarantee that they are even going to make the playoffs.

Whoever wins on Sunday, will still need to win their final two games but they will be controlling their own destiny.
