Buffalo Bills Pro Bowl snub: Jordan Poyer

Replace: Tyrann Mathieu

It is amazing that Jordan Poyer continues to get better every year and every year he is overlooked for the Pro Bowl. Since joining the Bills in 2017, he and Micah Hyde have created one of the best safety duos in the NFL.

This year though in particular is a big oversight as Poyer leads all safeties in interceptions with five. He also has 83 total tackles, and nine passes defended and is ahead of Tyrann Mathieu in all three categories.

Poyer and Mathieu are tied in one category with one sack each. One of the only categories the Chiefs safety is ahead of Poyer is in fumble recoveries with two while Poyer doesn’t have any on the season.

While Tyrann Mathieu is a good player, there is no question that Jordan Poyer has had a better season this year. This should have been the year the Bills’ safety was named to his first Pro Bowl because he certainly earned it.
