Defensive Ends

This was one of the best games for the defensive end position all season, led by Efe Obada who had two sacks. He has primarily played a reserve role this season and has only seen playing time with players ahead of him out due to injuries. That may need to change after the game Obada had on Sunday.

Another player who hasn’t seen much playing time this year was Boogie Basham, who finished the game with four total tackles and was a force along the defensive line. Combine that with Jerry Hughes adding a tackle for a loss and a pass defended, along with Mario Addison adding two tackles for a loss and this was a good game for this position.

Grade: B+

Defensive Tackles

The defensive tackle also had some new players with Star Lotulelei back this week after missing last week due to a toe injury and added a sack. The Bills also have had a number of players out this week and this allowed Vernon Butler to see some snaps since Week 11 and had two total tackles.

However, the story once again was the play of Harrison Phillips who has looked really good the past few weeks. He appears to be getting past a few knee injuries over the past few seasons and playing as he did in the early part of 2019.
