Pass rush wakes up for the Buffalo Bills defense

Earlier in the week, Sean McDermott didn’t dodge the question when asked about whether or not the defense needs more from their front four and he said “100% yes”, according to Heather Prusak.

The Bills certainly got that this week as the Bills finished with four sacks, which is the most they have had in a game since Week 2 against the Dolphins when they have six sacks.

In Week 15, the defensive line was led by Efe Obada who would have two sacks with Star Lotulelei and cornerback Taron Johnson each adding one.

However, it wasn’t only sacks as the Bills’ defensive line seemed to win the battle in the trenches and were getting steady pressure on Cam Newton that would force the quarterback to throw from different angles and not allow him to throw in a clean pocket.

If the Buffalo Bills can continue to get pressure as they did in Week 15, it will be a tremendous boost for a secondary that is trying to finish out the season with one of the best in the league in Tre’Davious White.
