Buffalo Bills starting offensive tackles
The Carolina Panthers have two excellent pass rushers in Brian Burns and Haason Reddick who have combined for 18.5 sacks on the season. This creates another big challenge for the Buffalo Bills starting tackles, Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown, to protect Josh Allen and give him time in the pocket.
Dion Dawkins started the year off struggling, which probably was due in large part to him working himself back from COVID-19 during the preseason, but recently has been playing better. In Week 13, Dawkins was graded by Pro Football Focus as one of the best offensive linemen that week.
As for Spencer Brown, he was a little inconsistent in Week 14 against the Bucs but that is to be expected from a rookie. There were a few occasions that he gave up sacks, either by getting beaten by a defensive end or failing to pick up a late blitzer off the edge.
However, he also showed why he is so valuable on the fourth-down run by Josh Allen where he pancakes linebacker Devin White to help the Bills quarterback pick up the first down.
If Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown can keep Reddick and Burns away from Josh Allen, it will go a long way in helping this Bills offense remain productive.
